Terms & Conditions – Mobile Disco Belfast

In this document, “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to Mobile Disco Belfast.

Quotes & Pricing

Prices listed on the website are estimated and may vary.
For an accurate quote, please request it in writing from Mobile Disco Belfast.
Travel is included unless stated otherwise.

Booking & Payment

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure Mobile Disco Belfast for an event.
This amount is deducted from the final performance fee.
The remaining balance must be paid before the event begins by bank transfer or cash on the day.
Hirers should note that a booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

Setup, Access & Venue Requirements

We will be ready to perform at the agreed start time.
We cannot be held responsible for delays caused by:
• earlier events overrunning
• restricted access to the venue
• venue staff or venue policies that prevent setup

We request 90 minutes for setup and 90 minutes for pack-down.

The hirer must provide:
• a safe, suitable working area at least 3.5m x 2.5m
• two reliable power outlets within 3 metres of the setup area

Changes to Event Details

Any changes to event details – including times, room layout, access, equipment needs, or guest numbers – must be communicated and agreed in writing.
Additional charges may apply.

Safety, Equipment Protection & Behaviour

The hirer agrees to provide adequate supervision of guests and ensure venue staff manage the premises safely.
Where guests under the age of 16 are present, the hirer (or parent/guardian) is responsible for their behaviour and safety at all times.

The hirer will take reasonable steps to protect Mobile Disco Belfast equipment during the contracted period.
Damage or theft caused by guests, venue staff, or inadequate supervision is the responsibility of the hirer.

We reserve the right to stop or cancel the performance if:
• equipment or guests are at risk
• conditions become unsafe
• behaviour of individuals threatens safety or damages equipment

This does not affect the performance fee.

Microphones & Guest Access

Microphones (corded or wireless) are provided for speeches and formal announcements only.
Anyone wishing to use the microphone must be introduced by the DJ/MC.

We are not responsible for comments made by guests using the microphone.

If a microphone is dropped, damaged, or stolen, the hirer is responsible for repair or replacement costs.

Guests are not permitted to access DJ equipment, sound systems, or lighting controls.
We may deny access at any time if safety is at risk.

Lighting, Volume & Effects

We reserve the right to adjust volume levels, lighting brightness, fixture placement, or special effects at any time for reasons relating to:
• safety
• power limitations or venue restrictions
• guest comfort
• technical requirements

Permission to use haze or fog machines may be denied by the venue.
(We typically do not use haze due to modern fire alarm systems.)

Additional Lighting & Third-Party Visual Equipment

Where additional lighting, illuminated décor, neon signs, or visual effects are supplied by another provider or the venue and are positioned within the performance, DJ, or dancefloor area, Mobile Disco Belfast reserves the right to reduce, modify, or not deploy its own lighting equipment.

This may be necessary to avoid:
• visual conflict or reduced presentation quality
• confusion over responsibility for lighting outcomes

Any third-party lighting or visual equipment remains the responsibility of the supplier who provided it.
Mobile Disco Belfast cannot be held responsible for the appearance, operation, or safety of third-party lighting.

Clients are encouraged to discuss any additional lighting or visual elements in advance so the overall setup can be planned cohesively.

Outdoor Events & Weather Conditions

Outdoor bookings must provide:
• full overhead cover
• dry, level ground
• safe electrical access

We reserve the right to refuse setup if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
No refund will be issued if weather conditions prevent a safe setup.

Equipment Cleanliness, Smoke & Vapour

Equipment must not be exposed to food, drink, excessive smoke, vaping, or liquid spills.
Any damage caused by such exposure is the responsibility of the hirer.

Working With Other Entertainers

If we are performing alongside another band or entertainer, the hirer must ensure:
• adequate space for both setups
• separate power outlets

Cancellations

A booking may only be cancelled with written consent from both the hirer and Mobile Disco Belfast.
Cancellations must be acknowledged in writing to be valid.

If the hirer cancels:
• within 28 days of the event: 50% of the remaining balance is payable
• within 7 days of the event: the full remaining balance is payable

The hirer is also responsible for any non-recoverable costs already incurred.

Illness, Emergencies & Unforeseen Circumstances

If Mobile Disco Belfast is unable to perform due to illness, accident, or circumstances beyond our control, all reasonable efforts will be made to provide a suitable replacement at the same fee.

If no replacement is available, the hirer will receive a full refund of all payments made.
Our liability is limited to the refund of fees paid.

Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer a “money-back satisfaction guarantee” that applies only to the overall DJ performance.

This guarantee:
• must be requested within 24 hours of the event
• does not apply if issues were caused by the venue, restrictions, guest behaviour, equipment interference, or anything outside our control
• may be refused if it is clear from video, photographs, or feedback that the hirer and guests enjoyed the performance
• is not valid if the event is cancelled by the hirer or venue

The guarantee is intended for genuine dissatisfaction only.

Optional Services

Any optional services or products listed on our website must be requested in advance or they may not be available.
Access to the music-planning app is offered at Mobile Disco Belfast’s discretion.

Music Selection & Requests

Song requests, playlists, and music submitted via the music-planning app or by guests are used as guidance only.

While every effort is made to accommodate requests, Mobile Disco Belfast does not guarantee that all requested songs will be played.
Music selection is guided by the event timeline, guest response, suitability, and professional judgement on the night.

Silent Disco Headset Hire (Add-On)

Where silent disco headset hire is added to a booking, all headsets, transmitters, and related equipment remain the property of Mobile Disco Belfast.

The hirer is responsible for ensuring reasonable care is taken with silent disco equipment during the hire period and that all items are returned at the end of the event.

Reasonable wear and tear is expected.
Loss or damage beyond normal wear and tear may be chargeable.

Silent disco headset hire is provided as an optional enhancement and does not alter the agreed DJ performance, timings, or responsibilities unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Force Majeure

Mobile Disco Belfast shall not be held liable for failure to perform, or for interruptions to performance, where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to power failure, venue evacuation, extreme weather, fire, flooding, government restrictions, or acts of God.

General

Hirers may not transfer their reservation to another party without written consent from Mobile Disco Belfast.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
